Who should be baptized?
Why should I get baptized?
To follow the example set by Christ. Mark 1:9
Because Christ commands it. Matthew 28:18-20
To demonstrate to other that you are a believer. Baptism doesn't make you a Christian, and it isn't necessary for salvation, but it does identify you as a Christian to others. Acts 8:12
When should I be baptized?
As soon as you become a believer, or as soon as you recognize it's importance. Maybe you have been a believer for awhile, but simply never recognized the importance of baptism. Maybe you just started believing today, or last Sunday. Either way, you are the perfect candidate for baptism.
Can my children be baptized?
As United Methodists, we baptize people of all ages. When you ask for your child to be baptized you are believing that God is already at work in that child's life, and are committing to raising your children in the Christian faith until they can accept that faith for themselves.
If would like to get baptized, or have your children baptized email Pastor Jake at firstname.lastname@example.org or talk to him on a Sunday morning!
